Characters

Samo Dencharl

Good aligned

The Champion of Light, returning to a world that has moved on without him. Lean and tall, with shoulder-length white hair and pale blue-grey eyes, he dresses in white or cream, chiefly a battered cream leather coat that has seen better decades, worn with boots.

Master Tefaloom

Samo’s old teacher: small, scaled and green-skinned, with a shock of bright blue hair standing on end. He wears a dinner jacket and half-moon spectacles. A truly terrible driver.

Angharad Karinthen

An assassin of few illusions and many weapons, with red hair curling past her shoulders, green eyes and a scatter of freckles. She wears a battle-worn jacket of denim and green leather, with charms, old medals and a heart-shaped buckle at her belt. She and Seth work as a pair, with no shortage of bickering between them.

Seth Syrandak

An assassin and self-taught Mage Artist whose spells rarely do quite what he intends. Angharad’s partner has dark hair in artful disarray and dark eyes in a handsome, trusting face. He wears a faded, tattered black jacket he has had for years and refuses to give up.

Diamo Sinclarintine

Evil aligned

The Champion of Darkness: elegant, theatrical and cruel beneath the charm. His pale face is framed by black hair swept back from a widow’s peak, marked by one white streak; his eyes are a deep, unsettling red. He wears a black cloak trimmed in green over a coat, with gloves and boots.

Richard Arcoria

Diamo’s Cat’Ord servant, with unruly ginger hair, white-tipped cat ears, amber eyes and whiskers that twitch when he is startled. He wears flip-flops and, for serving duties, an apron over his one good shirt. His exchanges with his master are rarely short of banter.

Malicktor

An enormous, shaggy black cat with eyes the red of old blood and a purr that carries too far into the dark. His tail curls around his feet or lashes behind him. He can silence a conversation with a look.

Dexter Lincoln

About five feet ten, neat and light-brown-haired, with a flat, precise voice and an unhurried manner. Dressed as an accountant, he is entirely forgettable at first glance.
